After graduating from the Estonian Academy of Arts in textile art in 1993, Ülle Saatmäe's daily work is developing design solutions for curtains and other interior design textiles for both living and public spaces. Long-term work experience in the field of textile design has given Saatmäe a very good overview of which materials and technical solutions are appropriate to use for the curtains of each specific object. Thanks to a very good sense of space and knowledge of art and textile history, Ülle Saatmäe has participated in several interior design projects of historic representative buildings as a curtain designer. ​

In cooperation with an interior architect or customer, Saatmäe designs curtains suitable for the room, finds the necessary fabrics for the work, assembles a professional execution team and oversees the entire process until installation and finishing.
